OMG... nuff said

Hey y'all!
So yesterday I ran into Walgreens (literally ran!) right before they closed to get something for an English project and of course I got sucked into the beauty section.  I found this polish in the Essie section and OMG this is SO COOL! It's Shine of the Times frome the luxeeffects collection.

This is with matte about you on the ring finger
So in the bottle the polish looks like just a shimmery white/clear (sorry i didn't take a pic of the bottle :/ ).  However, I put it over Essie Carry On and it looks amazing! I love the coppery, chunky look.  I gives a cool finish.  Plus, depending on how you move your finger it can look green, orange or yellow.  How cool is that? I realize it's more of a fall color, but I am so glad I got my hands on it! I hope you will go and check this out!

Essie Matte About You Review

Hey everyone!
I have a very exciting post today!  I have been looking for Essie Matte About You top coat for a really long time.  Every time I went to Ulta I would look for it, but I searched in vain.  However this trip I FINALLY FOUND IT!  I thought I would show you guys swatches of my first use of it.

Initial thoughts: I love the idea.  The ability to turn any polish matte is really cool!  I like how quickly it dries to that matte finish.  I recommend using two coats to get a really matte finish.  The downsides: It is really hard to get messed off when your nail polish is matte.  I got paint on my nails while painting sets for our school musical, and it was impossible to get off.  Also, the matte becomes shiny after a while.  When you get things like grease or lotion on your nails it becomes a little bit shiny.  Another coat will fix it, but I personally don't like using more than three coats because it chips more quickly.  Overall I like this top coat, and I can't wait to try it on other colors and textures.
I hope this was helpful to you, and I hope you will try this out (if you can find it).  Hope you have a wonderful week!

OPI Holland Collection Swatches (what I have)

Hey there!
I'M IN ALABAMA! I am really excited to be in Birmingham for a scholarship audition at Samford University.  Since my hotel has wifi i thought I would do a quick post.  Today's post is about OPI's Holland collection.  I only have three colors from it, but I thought i would give you my opinions on it.
I Don't Give a Rotterdam!

This is a gorgeous denim blue with gold shimmer.  I don't think I have ever seen a color like this. I like that it is wearable blue.  It isn't going to overpower your outfit like most blues will.
I Have a Herring Problem

This color is similar to the last one, but by no means are they the same.  This color is more of a teal, but it has the same gold shimmer.  I like that this is a little darker while still not being overpowering.
Pedal Faster Suzi!

This one is a little less unique, but it is still totally worth it! It is a light pink with silver shimmer.  This reminds me of OPI Princesses Rule!, except this is 5x thicker.  I personally prefer this one!
So I hope this gave you a glimpse of OPI's latest collection, even though I only have three polishes.  If I get any more I will be sure to show you!  I have some more reviews and that jan/Feb favorites coming up for you, so stay tuned!  Have a fierce Friday!

Fun with Essie

Hey guys!
Sorry it's been a while.  It's been a crazy week.  Anyway, today's post is a manicure that I did this weekend.  These colors were given to me by my cousin Becky for Christmas.  Thanks Becky!

My OPI base coat, which I am currently scrapping the bottom of the bottle of, was the first step.  Next I applied two coats of Essie Mochachino, which is a pretty grey color.  Then I used Essie Carry On with Konad plate m65.  Technically they say that you are supposed to use the Konad special polishes, but a solid regular polish works just as well.  It might not be quite as opaque as the special polishes, but the work well enough.  Then I used the same Carry On color to make a diagonal swipe across my nail.  Then I used my Kiss art polish in silver glitter polish to line that swipe.  I finished it all off with Seche Vite top coat.  I am really enjoying these polishes.  I have never been a real big fan of Essie because of the small brushes.  They can tend to be kind of streaky.  However, with these, two coats makes them look really pretty.  Thanks again Becky for these lovely colors!!
So I hope you all enjoyed this post! Let me know how y'all would feel about more konad posts, like maybe a tutorial or an info post.  I will hopefully have my Jan/Feb favorites post up soon.  Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

The Party Mani that Never was!

Hey there!
So this weekend I went to my friend Hannah's birthday party.  I had a great time dancing with my friends and getting dressed up.  Anyway, I decided that I was going to paint my nails to match my dress.

Here's what my dress looked like! I love it because it fits me really well and it's very fun
Saturday I had a band performance (in which I got a superior! woohoo!) and another party, so I didn't have time to paint my nails before Hannah's party.  So the next day I decided I was going to paint them how I would have for the party.

Of course I began with my OPI base coat (which I am running low on).  Then I used one of my favorite nail polishes ever: China Glaze Let's Groove.  It only takes one coat to get a really solid color, which I love.  Next I used OPI Divine Swine from the Muppets collection.  I like the big silver chunks of glitter because they give a different textured look.  Finally I used two coats of Seche Vite top coat.  I used two coats so that I can't feel the texture of the glitter.  I don't like it when my nails feel rough from the glitter.  So I hope you all enjoyed my belated party, and I hope you have a terrific Tuesday!

PS How would y'all feel about me doing a January/February favorites post?  I'm a little late on a January faves, so I'm thinking about combining them.  Let me know what you think!

An Apology

Hey everybody!
I am really sorry I haven't had a legitimate post in a while.  It has been a long week, and I haven't had a lot of time on my hands to post lately.  I just wanted to update y'all on life.  Drama, school, and college applications and such have kept me really busy.  So again I am sorry I haven't been around much, but I will try to get more posts out this week.  Thanks for all your support!

My New Obsession: Sparkles!

Hey everybody!

Today's post is about one of my new favorite polishes.  I bought OPI DS classic about two months ago, and I hadn't really given it the time of day, simply because I thought it would be too nude.  Well, I was COMPLETELY WRONG!!!

This picture captures the different color sparkles!
So what I really love about this color is grainy look.  It is such a fine glitter that it doesn't have a rough texture like most glitters.  The glitter has a slight holographic quality in the correct light, which is something I have never had before.  It is just as easy to remove as any normal nail polish.  I am really glad I found this, and I hope to find more Designer Series polishes in the future.  I hope you enjoyed this post, and I hope to get a few more in this week if I can.  Love you guys!
