Summer Diagonal French

Hello Friends!
Summer is in full force where I live, so I decided to do some summery nails.  What better color to use than an aggressively bright pink?!  This design is inspired by Kelli Marissa on YouTube.  I thought it would be fun way to use a mega bright color without putting it all over my nail.

So for the base I used one coat of Essie Gel Couture in Fairy Tailor.  I took some striping tape and laid it diagonally across the tips of my nails, starting at the right corner.  Then I used one coat of China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy below the tape.  I have now realized that I need to buy a new bottle of this one because mine is SUPER lumpy and old.  After that I pulled off the striping tape and finished it off with Seche Vite top coat to give it a nice glossy finish.

So that is my fun, bright summer diagonal french!  I love how this turned out! I'm going to have to do this type of mani with other colors in the future.  I hope y'all have a great weekend!

Spring Trend Tribal

Good morning lovlies!
This week I got an exciting package in the mail: my first roll of striping tape! So I decided to break it in by creating this tribal design.  Hope y'all enjoy!

I started off with two coats of China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint on.  This is a really pretty, shimmery mint color.  The I placed two small pieces of striping tape on my nail, one just above the tip and the other diagonally from the top of the first.  I then painted a coat of China Glaze Mimosas Before Manis.  These two colors are so in this season! Next I used my black Kiss nail art polish to outline the tape lines, create the zigzag, draw stripes, and add polka dots.  I used my Francesca's gold nail art polish to make the gold line along the top and used my gold Kiss glitter to fill in the black stripes.  I had a lot of fun making this design!
I hope y'all enjoyed this look, and have a wonderful Wednesday!

I feel summer comin' on...

Hey everybody!
I hope y'all had a great weekend!  So I just started summer vacation, so I thought I'd post a look that I did using one of the most summery things i could think of: NEON!  Hope you enjoy!

So to start off I used China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise.  This is a neon turquoise color with some slight shimmer.  It is not what most people generally think of when they think neon (it's not just eye searing), but it is still very vibrant.  I topped that with Sephora by OPI Not Your Average Turquoise.  I love this turquoise glitter!  The only problem I have with it is that I kinda had to fish for the bigger pieces of glitter, but that is pretty common for polishes like this.  I used my Francesca's nail art pen in gold to add the half moons at the top of the nail.  I finished off with a coat of top coat.
I hope y'all enjoyed this look!  I expect to get a good amount of posts in now that I am off for summer break, so keep your eyes peeled!  Have a terrific Tuesday!

Shimmering Summer

Hey there!
So today's post is about a polish that I have been obsessed with lately: OPI Happy Anniversary.  I have had a hard time finding this one in the past, but the other day I was in my grocery store and found it in the beauty section.  I personally think that is an incredibly odd place to find a polish, but I'll take what I can get :)  This is a fantastic polish for layering over solid, creme polishes.  One thing I really like is that it works with all different colors.  As you will see in the pictures, there are lots of combinations to try.

This is Happy Anniversary over China Glaze For Audrey.  I like that it lightened it a little.  This is what I had on my nails for graduation :)

This is Happy Anniversary over OPI Alpine Snow.  By itself Alpine Snow is very messy looking, but with a little cleanup and this awesome polish, a pearly finish is the result.
Overall I absolutely love this polish!  It is a great way to transform an ordinary creme finish polish.  I have been using this one all the time, and I know it will continue to be a favorite.  I hope y'all enjoyed this post, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

A Yay and a Nay

Good Morning lovelies!
This morning I have two polishes that I want to review.  On Saturday I went to Ulta and bought two nail polishes, China Glaze Flying Dragon and Zoya Sarah.  I really only intended to by Flying Dragon, but I ended up picking up Sarah as well.  When I got home I tried them out, and I found that i only like one of them.  It was a little bit disappointing, but hey, you've gotta get a few duds to find things you really like!

Let's start with the yay! This is Zoya Sarah.  I don't usually buy red nail polishes, but the name caught me because Sarah is my sister's name!  I actually ended up loving this one.  I like that it is a darker red and not as bright and gaudy as most reds I've tried.  There is a little bit of gold shimmer, too.  I am really glad I bought this.

Now on to the nay.  This is China Glaze Flying Dragon.  The second picture is more accurate to the color.  The problem I have with this polish is that the color is not as bright as I wanted.  It turned out to be more of a darker purple than a bright, vibrant purple.  Also, the texture is kind of a gritty matte.  I like matte polish, but not when it looks chunky and gritty.  It's kind of funny that the polish I intended on buying turned out to be the one I didn't like.  Oh well!
I hope you enjoyed this comparison, and have a fabulous week!

The Party Mani that Never was!

Hey there!
So this weekend I went to my friend Hannah's birthday party.  I had a great time dancing with my friends and getting dressed up.  Anyway, I decided that I was going to paint my nails to match my dress.

Here's what my dress looked like! I love it because it fits me really well and it's very fun
Saturday I had a band performance (in which I got a superior! woohoo!) and another party, so I didn't have time to paint my nails before Hannah's party.  So the next day I decided I was going to paint them how I would have for the party.

Of course I began with my OPI base coat (which I am running low on).  Then I used one of my favorite nail polishes ever: China Glaze Let's Groove.  It only takes one coat to get a really solid color, which I love.  Next I used OPI Divine Swine from the Muppets collection.  I like the big silver chunks of glitter because they give a different textured look.  Finally I used two coats of Seche Vite top coat.  I used two coats so that I can't feel the texture of the glitter.  I don't like it when my nails feel rough from the glitter.  So I hope you all enjoyed my belated party, and I hope you have a terrific Tuesday!

PS How would y'all feel about me doing a January/February favorites post?  I'm a little late on a January faves, so I'm thinking about combining them.  Let me know what you think!
